Xylitol
It is a sugar of natural origin, most often obtained
from birch. It is also found in fruits and vegetables,
berries, mushrooms, corn cobs, and hardwoods. It was
acquired by scientists at the end of the 19th century,
but it began to enjoy great popularity only after 1940.
Studies conducted at that time showed that it is
practically independent of insulin, which means that it
is transformed in the body, with a small contribution of
insulin.
What can it be used for?
For any dish for which sugar is traditionally required.
You can enjoy sweet cakes, cookies, muffins, preserves,
doughnuts, sweet salads and preserves without any
obstacles. It can also be found in toothpastes (also
from homemade recipes) and in chewing gums.
